Mr. Seaburn Atkinson

Funeral services for Mr. Seaburn Atkinson, 86, were held at 10 a.m., January 15, 2010 at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman. Scott Broughton and Doug Atkinson officiated. Burial followed in Weir Cemetery in Weir.

A resident of Koscuisko, Mr. Atkinson was a retired mail carrier and farmer and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was also a member of Weir Baptist Church.

Mr. Atkinson died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Monfort Jones Hospital in Koscuisko.

Survivors include sons Doug Atkinson, Keith Atkinson, both of Weir, Neubern Atkinson of Meridian, daughters Janet Atkinson of Weir, Betty DePina of Ashville, NC, brother E.A. "Gabe" Atkinson of Louisville, sister Nancy Henson of Ackerman, 13 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Memorials may be made to MS State Veterans Home in Kosciusko.

Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.
