Mr. Roger L. Spell December 28, 2009 Funeral services for Mr. Roger L. Spell, 64, were held at 11 a.m., December 30, 2009 at Eupora First United Methodist Church. Rev. Trey Harper and Rev. Doyle Cummings officiated. Burial followed in Webster Memorial Garden Cemetery in Webster County. A resident of Eupora, Mr. Spell was a service manager for Ms. Valley Gas for 35 years. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church at Eupora. Mr. Spell died Monday, December 28, 2009 at North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo. Survivors include wife Ann Boswell Spell of Eupora, daughters Becky Spell Graubart of Germantown, Tenn., Shannon Spell Palmer of Cordova, Tenn., Bethany Spell of Jackson, sisters Kay Kuhn of Louin, Peggy Thornton of Hargenton, Texas, Cherry Russell of Winnsboro, La., Tenia Hauck of Biloxi, brothers Berlie Spell of Ellisville, Jody Spell of Bryan, Texas and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Loye Stephens, Perry Smith, Jerry Jones, Marvis Braswell, Allen Murphy and John White. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society Hopewell Lodge, 2008 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, Tenn. or Eupora First United Methodist Church, Eupora, MS. Ms. Mary Angelina McClain December 31, 2009 Funeral services for Mary Angelina McClain, 87, were held at 2 p.m., January 3, 2010 at Blythe Creek Baptist Church near Mathiston. Rev. Danny Irvin and Rev. Mike Fondren officiated. Burial followed in Blythe Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. A resident of Ackerman, Ms. McClain was a member of Blythe Creek Baptist Church. Ms. McClain died Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville. Survivors include sons Bill McClain, Bob McClain, Jerry McClain, all of Mathiston, Jim McClain of Alabaster, Ala., daughter Mary Emma Snell of Decatur, Ala., 16 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Blythe Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements. Mr. A.B. Logan, Jr. December 31, 2009 Funeral services for Mr. A.B. Logan, Jr., 86, were held at 10 a.m., January 4, 2010 at Ackerman Church of Christ. Bro. Ed Casteel officiated. Burial followed in Enon Cemetery in Ackerman. A resident o f Ackerman, Mr. Logan was a retired manager for 4-County Electric Power Association. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Ackerman Church of Christ. Mr. Logan died Thursday, December 31, 2009 at North Mississippi Medical Center-Tupelo. Survivors include daughter Ann Ellington of Ackerman, brothers Paul Logan of Hamilton, Ala, Thomas Logan of Tuscaloosa, Ala., sisters Catherine Cash of Illinois, Lois Gelona of Ardmore, Okla., June James of Columbus, Mildred Logan of Santa Barbara, Cal., and two grandchildren. Mrs. Helen Young December 23, 2009 Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Young, 77, were held January 2, 2010 at Beck Funeral Home in Louisville, MS. Rev. Joe B. Glass officiated. Burial followed at Mt. Pleasant No. 2 Church Cemetery. Mrs. Young was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Pleasant No. 2 M.B. Church in Noxapater, MS. Mrs. Young died December 23, of cardiac arrest in Queen City nursing home in Meridian, MS. Survivors include: son, Kenneth Ray Young of Meridian, MS; sisters, Earnestine Wilson of Chicago IL; brothers, Rudolph Young of Noxapater, MS, J.C. Mr Harvey Randolph Mitchell, JR. December 29, 2009 Funeral services for Mr. Harvey Randolph Mitchell, Jr. 44 were held at Friendship M.B. church January 2. Rev. Charles McNeil officiated. Burial followed at Memorial Garden cemetery. Mr. Mitchell was a service manager at Wal-Mart and a member of The Friendship Praise Church in Jackson, MS. Mr. Mitchell died December 29, of cardiac arrest in Baptist hospital in Jackson, MS. Survivors include: mother, Lucendia Mitchell; sisters, Brenda Short of Macon, MS and Durenda Ramsey of Columbus, MS; brothers, Stanley Mitchell of Louisville, and Daniel Mitchell of Atlanta, Ga.; maternal grandmother; Katie Clay; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Beck Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. J W Hughes December 23, 2009 Funeral services for Mr. JW Hughes, 81, were held at Mt. Pleasant No. 2 M.B. Church in Noxapater, MS on December 28. Mr. Hughes died December 23, of cardiac arrest in Winston County Nursing Home in Louisville. Survivors include: daughters, Dessie Clemons, Annie Hudson, Priscillia Miller, Evangelean Hughes, Christine Hughes, Ivy Nunn and Trecia Moore; sons, GW, Bobby Joe and Jerry Hughes, Marvin Miller, Hamilton and Willie Lee Robinson; brother, Hodgie Hughes of Louisville and 60 grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Dr. Clifford Jernigan, 52, were held at Friendship M.B. church in Louisville on December 26. Rev. Dr. Hickman Johnson officiated. Burial followed at memorial Garden Cemetery. Mr. Jernigan was an educator. Rev. Jernigan died on December 20 of cardiac arrest in Winston County Medical Center in Louisville. Survivors include: mother, Helen Jernigan; sisters, Gwenevere and Felecia Jernigan of Louisville; Ms. Pamela Houston of Virginia Beach, VA; brothers, Norris Jernigan, Anthony Jernigan and Darrell Jernigan all of Louisville and Charles Houston of Illinois; and a host of nieces nephews other relatives and friends. Mrs. Patsy Ruth Rosamond January 1, 2010 Mrs. Patsy Ruth Rosamond, 67, of Shuqualak, MS, died Friday, January 1st, at Infinity Hospice in Meridian, MS. Funeral services were held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, Jan. 2nd, at Butler Pentecostal Church in Noxubee County. Interment was in Butler Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home of Louisville was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Rosamond was born November 25, 1942, in Mobile, AL. She is survived by a sister, Vera Joyce Westbrook of Silverino, MS two brothers, Edwin Millard Presley of Escatawpa, MS; and George Harold Presley of Shuqualak, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mary Alice "Mamie" Williams December 23, 2009 Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Alice "Mamie" Williams, 98, were held Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Nowell Funeral Home in Louisville with Rev. Wayne Stockstill officiating. Mrs. Williams, a homemaker, was born August 15, 1911 and passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the Specialty Hospital of Meridian. She is survived by her husband, Fred Williams; her daughter, Marianne Williams Erikson; and a host of nieces and nephews. Nowell Funeral Home in Louisville was in charge of the arrangements.
