In the June 28 Choctaw Board of Education meeting, the board approved the budget for the upcoming school year.

The budget approved by the three board members in attendance has projected revenues of $13,999,980.88 with projected expenditures of $16,343,958.96. The district has $1,990,983.02 in other financing through a capital projects loan.

The board also approved about 45 changes in the handbook for the upcoming year. Changes ranged from new requirements for graduation to added dress code requirements. The new requirements for graduation were changed to reflect the additional fourth math requirement needed to graduate. Dress codes additions addressed the problems of exposed midriffs and sagging clothes.

The board also:

€ Approved the transfer of two teachers at Weir Attendance Center.

€ Accepted the resignation of Cliff Ormon.

€ Consented to remain with present insurance carrier.

€ and agreed to help support Sandra Newman with the process of National Board Certification.
