From press reports
Don Threadgill's goals as Chancery Clerk have not changed.
He has always managed the office in a courteous, friendly and professional manner. Each day he looks forward to helping others. Voters elected Threadgill to work as the Chancery Clerk, and he has done that, fulltime. As most know, the office is always busy, but that has not kept him from getting out every evening, visiting with voters individually, and letting them know how much he appreciates each them.
He believes that ability may get someone to the top, but only character will keep you there. As he campaigned, some of the most commonly made statements that he heard are that the office has not changed him and that he doesn't become friendly every four years, or when it is convenient or necessary. It's The Way He Has Always Been!
He knows that soon voters will have to ask themselves the following questions. Should I vote for someone who has the right experience? Should I vote for someone who has and will be dedicated to making our county a better place to live? Should I vote for someone with proven and time-tested leadership qualities? Should I vote for someone who continues to be active in our youth programs, community events, and in economic development? He believes that he is still the person for the job and he is asking for the opportunity to continue to work and serve as Chancery Clerk.
He wants you to know that he has never lost sight of the fact that voters, the people of the county, own the office. It belongs to you. Voters have allowed him to serve and for the opportunity he is thankful.
In closing, Don asks that everyone remember how significant this election is, and that participation is important.
"Please exercise that right and go vote on August 7, and vote to re-elect Don Threadgill as your Chancery Clerk," stated Threadgill.
