The Choctaw Board of Supervisors look at a county map as Don Threadgill, chancery clerk, explains whether or not a road is public or private for an individual request.

The Choctaw Board of Supervisors discussed the request of Prairie Opportunity for improvements to their building, located behind the Courthouse.

"At least get a repair person over there and look at the efficiencies," said Don Threadgill, chancery clerk.

The supervisors looked over the list and agreed they should look at the building to see which improvements are vital.

"If it causes the building to deteriorate then you might want to look at that," said Joe Griffin, board attorney.

No action was taken on whether or not to make the improvements.

The supervisors agreed to purchase a new patrol car for the Sheriff's Office through a lease purchase program. The state contract base price for the patrol car is $23,693.

Keith Coleman informed the board that the Town of Ackerman's new fire truck has a recall on the air break control valve. The board said to find the nearest place to have it fixed to stop any accidents. Fixing the recall is free of charge and should not take very long, according to Coleman.

Kevin Null, county prosecutor, has recused himself from a case in Justice Court because of conflict of interest. The board will have to appoint a special prosecutor for the case.

"I will try to find you somebody," said Griffin.

No action was taken.

The board, also, approved to allow the Town of Ackerman to have a copy of their name and address list upon signing a confidenality agreement.

In other business the board approved:

€ Postage requests from the tax assessor/collector and for the Justice Court.

€ Travel for the Justice Court clerk and sheriff to attend fall conferences and travel for the coroner and assistant coroner to be recertified in Jackson.

€ The list of mobile home insolvency and the Solid Waste Department's unpaid bills.

€ School bus turnarounds in most of the districts.

€ To release yearly funds to Bywy and the Town of French Camp Volunteer Fire Departments.

€ To order bridge load limit signs.
