Be Creative at Choctaw County Library

The Choctaw County Library invites all children to Be Creative at your Library every Thursday in June at 2 p.m. This week's activity will include fun singing karaoke.
This year's summer reading program will include a variety of creative arts and crafts along with special guests. Also, there will be a t-shirt drawing every week.
The summer reading program is sponsored with the Choctaw County Extension Service.

If you are a young woman between 12-16 years old and look forward to reading a new book each week or trying a new project, come to St. Mark Catholic Church Inn, located at 181 E. Word of Life 4th Sunday singing

Word of Life Church of God will be having the 4th Sunday singing June 28 at 5 p.m. The church is located on Crowley Drive in Maben. Singers will be the Barnes Family Quartet from Nort. Pastor is James (Skeet) Davis of West Point. Music Director is pat Mullis of Maben. Refreshments will be served after singing. Come out and be with us.

Joyful Noise Quartet of Ackerman will be singing at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, Sunday, June 28 at 6 p.m. The church is located between Sturgis and Longview. Refreshments will be served after the singing. Everyone is invited to attend.
Night of Fellowship and Fun

Providence Baptist Church is the place to come for fellowship and fun Sunday night, June 28 at 6 p.m. All ages are invited to the cookout and picnic. Many games will be played ending with a water balloon battle/contest. This event is a sendoff leading up to Vacation Bible School that will begin July 12-16. Bro. Randle Poss is the pastor.

Ten Star All Star basketball camp

Final applications are now being evaluated for the Ten Star All Star summer basketball camp. The camp is by invitation only. Boys and Girls ages 10-19 are eligible to apply. Past participants include a variety of great athletes. Players from 50 states and 11 countries attended the 2008 camp. College scholarships are available to players selected to the All-American Team. Many camp locations available. There is also a summer camp available for boys and girls ages 9-18 of all skill levels. NARFE to meet

The National Active & Retired Federal Employees Association will meet at 11:30 a.m. June 25 at Barnhill's Restaurant on Highway 12 in Starkville. This month's guest speaker is John Hubbard, Senior Safety Specialist with the Mississippi Farm Bureau. Hubbard will be speaking on home safety. This is the last meeting for the summer. The next NARFE meeting will be held in September.
