The Choctaw County Animal Clinic is raising funds to create an animal shelter. They are looking for a building or lot for the animal shelter. If you know of a building or lot that would be free to use or for sale at a reasonable price call Rita Morris at 285-9006.

Juniorettes Trick or Treating for UNICEF Nov. 5
The Ackerman High School Juniorette Club will be treat or treating for UNICEF, Nov. 5. Be ready to donate to a great cause.
Chester Baptist Church Fall Fest
Chester Baptist Church invites children up to the sixth grade to their Fall Festival. Nov. 5. Carnival activities will be held from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center and from 7:35 p.m.-8 p.m. a "Trunk or Treat" will be in the parking lot.
Choctaw County NAACP meeting
The Choctaw County Branch of the NAACP #5631 will hold their regular public meeting Monday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church, 150 Pine Street, Ackerman. The meetings are conducted by the officers. Discussions will center around various concerns in the community affecting both the east and west side of Ackerman and the townships in Choctaw County. The guest presenter is Anthony Witherspoon, field operations, NAACP state office. The NAACP meetings are open to the public as well as NAACP members.
Wildlife Seminar

Waterfowl management in Mississippi will be presented by Drs. Rick Kaminski and Brian Davis with MSU's Dept. of Wildlife, Fisheries & Aquaculture Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Choctaw Co. Extension Office, by interactive video. Call 285-6337 to reserve a seat.

Veteran's Day program Nov. 11
The Ackerman High School Student Government Association will host it annual Veteran's Day Breakfast and program on Nov. 11, in the school library from 8 a.m.-9:30 a.m. All area veterans are cordially invited to attend. Sights and Sounds of the Holiday Season
Join us from the University Florist as Lynette shows off the sights and sounds of the holiday season with flowers, floral arrangements and so much more on Nov. 12 at noon at the Choctaw Co. Live in Worship concert Nov. 14
Everyone is invited to a Live in Worship Concert with Peter's Rock Temple Mass Choir featuring Evangelist Myrna Summers, gospel recording artist and Stellar Award winner. The concert is Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. at Peter's Rock Temple, 223 MLK BLVD, Starkville. Admission is free.

Local churches are collecting shoe box gifts to be delivered to needy children around the world. The local collection site is Ackerman Baptist Church, 185 Cherry Street, Ackerman.
Drop off times are Nov. 16-21, Monday-Saturday 9 a.m.-noon and 2 p.m.-4p.m,. Sunday, Nov. 22 from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 23 from 8 a.m.-10 a.m.
Anyone may participate by donating a filled shoe box for a needy child. For more information call Ackerman Baptist Church at 285-3211.

Parade Entry Deadline Dec. 1
The deadline for submitting entries in the Ackerman Christmas Parade is Tuesday, Dec. 1. Entry forms may be picked up, mailed, for faxed from Ackerman Town Hall.
The Christmas Parade will be held Thursday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. The theme this year is "A Christmas Wish List." For more information on the parade, contact Ackerman Town Hall at 285-6251.

Christmas Parade
Dec. 3
The Town of Ackerman will host the annual Christmas Parade on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 6 p.m. The theme this year is "A Christmas Wish List." The parade route will begin at Ackerman High School an will travel west down Main Street, continue through two 4-way stop signs, to the intersection of Highway 15. The parade route turn right onto Highway 15, travel north to Cherry Street, take a right and continue to the Baptist Church.
Civil War round table set
The Golden Triangle Civil War Round Table will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, November 10, at 7 p. m. at the Golden Triangle Planning and Development Building, at 106 Miley Road, in Starkville. (Park and enter at the rear of the building.) This month's meeting will be the annual "round table discussion." A variety of topics will be discussed, with members initiating the topics or questions. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p. m. Anyone with an interest in Civil War history is invited to attend.
